This year the ACO presents 6 concerts in the intimate and acoustically fine Raye Freedman Arts Centre. Parking is free and the general environment is well suited to music making.

The ACO started in 1999 and now twice in a row has been voted best classical music concert in Auckland by Metro magazine.

The ACO is a champion of New Zealand music. Our first concert features Lyell Cresswell's "Of Smoke and Bickering Flame". It's a concerto for orchestra full of jazz inspired rhythms and virtuoso playing. We welcome back John Chen as soloist in Mozart's K595.

We have two composer portrait concerts this year: John Elmsly and Helen Bowater. You will get to know their musical universe with a slection of their works for various instrumental combinations.

We are able to continue with this series because of the support of our funding partners and the generous donations from people who come to the concerts.
